Known for her gentle, calming presence — Libby would tell you that this calm comes from a reverent and implicit trust in the human body, babies and the birthing process. She is at ease even in the raw force of birth. Her patience is woven into all of the care she provides. She protects the sacred meeting of baby and parents with calm, respectful, non-intrusive care.
MIDWIFE
Libby (she/her) believes birth is inherently normal, while also skilled in identifying the abnormal —- managing complications calmly and efficiently. After 10 years in birth work and attendance at over 400 births, Libby has become an expert in following your lead. She knows when to hold space, when to offer guidance, and when hands-on support for you or your baby is needed. Libby will meet you and support you, exactly where you are.
DEDICATION
Dedication to clients throughout these seasons of life is Libby’s honor. She is happy to take time answering all the questions you may bring. It is her goal for you to leave your appointments feeling understood, supported and encouraged. For your anxieties or fears to be eased with both information and a renewed trust in your own self. She will reflect back to you that you are the expert of you and your body. Your partner and/or children are always welcome and included to whatever degree you desire.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Libby has been attending births for 10 years! She began as a CNA, then a birth doula, and quickly became interested in midwifery. She graduated from the Midwives College of Utah in 2019 with over 3,000 hours of clinical work in addition to academics. Following graduation, Libby earned her Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and completed a year-long fellowship with Treasure Valley Midwives. Libby chooses to be licensed in order to provide a wider scope of care and have access to certain medications and equipment. She supports VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean).
